RAN joins TWS
RAN Networks S.L. (“RAN”), a Spanish webhosting company based in Madrid, has been acquired by Axarnet Group S.L. (“Axarnet”), a Spanish market leader in web and cloud hosting that is part of Total Webhosting Solutions (“TWS”).
Madrid, February 7, 2020 – Axarnet continues to consolidate the Spanish webhosting market. After joining TWS in 2019 this is the second acquisition that Ventura Gil Peña and his team have realized after the acquisition of Softec Cloud in September 2019.
RAN Networks was established in 1995 and is one of the oldest independent webhosting companies in Spain, offering web hosting, e-mail and domain names for small and medium-sized enterprises and internet agencies. The founders of RAN Networks decided that due to the changing market dynamics it was time to dedicate their undivided attention and resources on operating their datacenter IPcore. Founder and director Alvaro Montero was looking for a good and permanent home for his company and customers. “For me, the partnership with TWS ensures continuation and further improvement of the services to our customers.”
Ventura Gil Peña, MD Axarnet Group: “Alvaro has built up a great company with his team and we believe that within the Axarnet Group we can create a stronger combination from which both companies can benefit. This second acquisition within one year is also an important step in the development of Axarnet within TWS. In our vision, the Spanish web hosting market is changing rapidly and being part of TWS strengthens us. The knowledge and experience of sister organizations that we can apply as well as the financial strength of TWS speeds up our development. We will continue to do more acquisitions in the future.”
Matthieu van Amerongen, CEO of TWS: “The acquisition of this type of smaller web hosting companies fits us very well and will be continued in the coming years. Smaller companies benefit from our scale which will make them perform above average. Various new products and services are available within the group, which leads to revenue growth. Moreover, we can roll out investments in infrastructure and technology on a larger scale, creating opportunities to save costs. By joining TWS these smaller companies simply become more successful in this rapidly changing Spanish hosting market.”
